HKCBA organizes these workshops to encourage Canadian business – particularly small and medium enterprises - to take the opportunity and initiative to expand their business activities by taking advantage of the exciting opportunities that are available – now and increasingly in the future – in the rapidly growing Asia marketplace. These Workshops provide advice and examples as to how SMEs may do this, in confidence and safety, by using Hong Kong as their business platform to cover the regional markets in other parts of China and Southeast Asia.

This Workshop will cover such topics as:

  • the opportunities, accessing market intelligence, risk management and more
  • how to sell, locate, monitor, finance, inputs and goods using reliable sources in Hong Kong and Mainland China
  • how to start, the services and initiatives available; business matching services, sector-specific missions to HK, available government funding, etc.
  • what you need to know about doing business in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Asia

"Hong Kong: Canada's Super Connector to

Cross-Continental and Multi-Sector "Belt and Road" Business Opportunities"

China’s Belt and Road initiative, which is designed to boost economic, trade, cultural and people-to-people ties between China and more than 65 countries spanning three continents, offers businesses unparalleled opportunities to tap into new markets. With Hong Kong’s well-developed financial markets and professional services, Hong Kong is gearing up to make contribution to and benefit from the initiative.

Canadian companies can also take advantage of this opportunity to foster business with China and countries along the Belt and the Road. These business opportunities will initially cover such sectors as infrastructure, transportation, logistics, financing and investment. It will then unfold a myriad of opportunities for companies to promote products and services to a cross-continental consumer market with 63% of the world’s population.

This workshop will provide information on the Belt and Road Initiative and a proposed action plan for interested Canadian companies to capitalize on the business potentials.
